Sandra Hesterman is Director Early Childhood Education at Murdoch University and a senior lecturer with expertise in early childhood learning environments and multiliteracies in the early years. Prior to working at Murdoch, Sandra taught extensively in Western Australian (WA) early childhood and primary school classrooms across the public and independent sector; in both metropolitan and rural schools, also internationally in Alberta Canada. Sandra is a strong advocate for the rights of young children and is presently campaigning for the development of a government-led WA Play Strategy to ensure children’s universal access to high quality play expe
