Nicola Flanagan is the Head of Innovation at Oakleigh State School in Brisbane. She has played a key role in managing the evolution towards digital normalisation at her site and has led the implementation of the Digital Technologies Curriculum at her site from 2015. Believing firmly in the power of technology to ignite, connect and motivate, she oversees a widely respected BYO Program, an ever-evolving community led 'Young Innovators Program' and is working as part of a team in supporting powerful, inquiry led STEAM learning. She is also an Apple Distinguished Educator and was recognised by the QLD Parliament when she was named as an Advance QLD Digital Champion. Having a personal belief in the power of students to make a difference, Nicola is excited by the potential of the new Australian Technologies Curriculum that, when combined with her school's vision, gives students the opportunity to become designers and creators of solutions.
