Matt Fyfield | Teacher

Matt Fyfield, Teacher, Mazenod College

A classroom teacher for 13 years in Australia and East Africa, Matt was inspired to research the power of instructional videos when he managed to renovate an ex-gang house using only YouTube videos. Matt is a researcher and PhD candidate at Monash University. His work centers on the nexus between the findings from experimental cognitive research and the real world of classroom practice. He is fascinated about how the state of the art deals with the state of the actual. He believes great teaching happens when the wisdom of educational experience is coupled with an understanding of the processing capacity of the brain.
