Dianne Carter, Principal, Waterford West State School

As a teacher and leader in both Primary and Secondary sectors, Di Carter has enjoyed 43 years working in education. Believing that people ‘do good when they feel good’, she has a passion for growing and developing staff in both the professional and personal arenas. A strength-based model forms the basis for her work and this year she is the Queensland Education John Laing Award for Professional Development in Leadership Excellence. “I am very fortunate to have spent my professional life working with teachers to improve life chances for children, it is a privilege and an honour.”
