Cheryl Mangan, Manager, Research Translation, Autism CRC

Knowledge translation specialist and inclusion evangelist, Cheryl Mangan currently leads the program of research translation in the Autism CRC, Australia’s first national cooperative research effort focused on autism across the lifespan. With over 15 years in the non-profit sector, Cheryl has a wealth of experience translating research into high quality, evidence based policy, programs and technology solutions. She has a proven track record in delivering effective and engaging apps and web services developed in partnership with the community and key stakeholders.
Cheryl believes wholeheartedly that innovation begins with people and is passionate about creating spaces and processes that empower individuals and communities to co-design their services and solutions. Creating the ultimate space for co-design, she co-led Australia’s first award-winning apps4autism hackathon, bringing together autistic adults, developers, designers, educators and health professionals to develop technology solutions to address key challenges facing the autistic and autism communities.

  • The Diverse Learners Hub (DLH) is an e-learning platform and community for teachers that facilitates the efficient and effective transfer of evidence-based programs and practices into schools
  • The research and co-design process, and a working prototype of the resulting teacher-focused platform will be presented, ahead of launch in 2019
