Teaching and learning has a new pedagogy to discover. STEAM! Based around the Maker culture, the use of technology coupled with creativity and experience has become a new benchmark in education. Come along and explore its history, where it came from, and what it can do to help in the classroom.

12:00 | Session 2: What are the key elements within STEAM/Maker learning?

In this session, we will break down the key elements to STEAM Maker education, look at what is necessary to create a peer to peer learning environment, and the steps to creating a STEAM community within the classroom.

Learning Outcomes: You will have the framework and direction to implement STEAM based classes and create a Makerspace environment within you school system.

1:45 | Session 3: Time to be practical 

You have heard the history, recorded the theory, now its time to put it all into action. In groups, you will be introduced to a selection of technology based equipment and applications to solve a unique problem presented to you. Hold on tight, cause this is where the theory becomes practical, using what we have learnt in the first two sessions.
